Arriving Early or Staying Late

Why a buffer day before or after your SALTY retreat helps

The short version

A buffer day can turn good travel into great travel. If you can, arrive a little early or leave a little later, especially if you're crossing time zones.

Arriving early

An airport hotel gives you a zero-stress morning before the retreat starts. Staying in the retreat's region a night early lets you start relaxing right away, maybe with a meal or a swim before anyone else lands. Even a quiet walk and an early bedtime the night before beats rushing straight from a flight into a full day.

Staying late

Plenty of guests add one extra night after the retreat ends. It's a much smoother way to close the trip than going straight from the farewell dinner to the airport. Ask us for town or beach suggestions if you're staying on, especially if you want one more coffee or swim before you fly.

Long-haul flights especially

If you're crossing several time zones to reach your retreat, a buffer day matters even more. Landing the day before gives your body a chance to catch up before the first workout, instead of starting the week jet-lagged.

What we do and don't cover

We don't cover hotels or transfers outside your retreat's official dates, but we're glad to share recommendations and local advice for extra days on either end.

Why it's worth it

Travel shouldn't feel rushed. A day of margin on either side helps you ease into the retreat and ease out of it, instead of treating the flight as the whole story.
