Schedule Terms Explained

A glossary of the schedule terms used on SALTY retreat itineraries

The short version

SALTY schedules use a handful of recurring terms across every retreat. Here's what each one means, so nothing on your itinerary feels like a mystery.

The glossary

  • SALTY Shakeout: A light, low-key session on arrival day to move the travel out of your body before the week gets going.

  • Morning Crew: The optional early session for early risers, before the main morning workout and breakfast.

  • Flow: Our yoga sessions. Dynamic and breath-led in the morning, slower and more restorative in the evening.

  • Burn: Pilates, SALTY style. Controlled movements with a glute and core focus.

  • Power: A strength-forward session built to push intensity before a lighter day.

  • Soul Work: A blend of yoga and Pilates that builds into something closer to a dance session by the end.

  • Bedtime Yin: A slow, restorative yoga session that closes out the day and helps the body wind down.

  • Beach Sweat: A group workout on the sand, part HIIT, part games, usually ending with someone in the ocean.

  • Combine: An athletic playground session with sprints, jumps, ladders, and med-ball work.

  • Workshop: A session that goes beyond a straight workout, like breathwork or a physiotherapy-led class, depending on the retreat.

  • Pool Hang: Scheduled downtime at the pool, built into the day on purpose.

  • Theme Night: A themed dinner or evening, from costume nights to local-food nights, on some retreats' livelier evenings.

  • Hosted cocktail night: One of two evenings per retreat where SALTY hosts the drinks and the vibe. Mocktails are always available.

  • Excursion day: A day built around a signature outing, like a waterfall hike, a boat day, a safari, or a cultural tour, that varies by destination.

  • SALTY Olympics: A team-relay, pool-games event with trophies on the line, on the retreats that run it.

  • The Finale: The last big workout of the week, usually the loudest session on the schedule.

  • Last Splash: A closing pool party on the final full day, on the retreats that run it.
