Endless Summer is SALTY's peak-summer beach retreat on Sicily's southeastern coast, built around daily workouts, beach club lunches, day trips to nearby towns, and the kind of long Italian evenings that stretch out on purpose. This trip is open for waitlist now. Dates and pricing are confirmed on the retreat page: https://www.getsaltyretreats.com/retreats/sicily-fitness-retreat.
What this retreat feels like
This is our warmest, highest-energy week, running during Ferragosto, the height of Italian summer. Expect full days: strong morning workouts, long beach club lunches, afternoon bike rides, and evenings that lean into local food and wine, often with music playing somewhere nearby. It is also one of our biggest groups, so the energy stays loud and social from day one.
Who it suits
This retreat suits guests who want peak summer turned all the way up, alongside genuine daily training. It suits anyone who likes slow food and long nights, plus guests who want a bigger group and the energy that comes with it. Returning SALTY guests looking for our most vibrant week tend to love this one.
This trip suits you less if you want a quiet, restorative week, or prefer a smaller, more intimate group. For that pace, our Costa Rica retreat runs the calmest week we offer, and our Morocco retreat keeps its group smaller too.
The setting
Maria del Focallo sits on the southeastern tip of Sicily, in the province of Ragusa, a long stretch of fine sand and turquoise water. The retreat is based right on the beach here, with direct beach access and a yoga shala. Short trips out to nearby towns such as Marzamemi and Noto are built into the week.
What makes this trip different
Zuma Beach Club anchors most afternoons, with à la carte lunches right on the sand a short walk from the property. A full day trip into Siracusa brings ancient history and gelato into the mix, and a handful of bikes are available all week for exploring the coast and nearby villages under your own steam.
Surf, if you want it
This trip does not include a surf program. The focus here is the beach and the coastal towns nearby, alongside daily workouts, so pack for sun and sand rather than a board.
A sample day
Mornings open with a yoga session, then a full buffet breakfast at the venue. Late morning brings a group beach workout, followed by lunch at Zuma Beach Club. Afternoons are yours for a bike ride, a nap, a swim, or an excursion into one of the nearby towns, and evenings wind down with a group dinner and either a bedtime yoga session or a night out.
Frequently asked questions
How intense are the workouts? This is one of our most physically intense retreats, leaning toward strength and conditioning work with a skilled coaching team. Every session is scalable, so you can dial any workout up or down, with no pressure to hit them all.
Is Sicily hot in August? Is it safe? August in southern Sicily runs hot, with sea breezes that help take the edge off. We schedule workouts for the cooler morning hours and let the afternoons run slower. The region itself is very safe and well travelled, so pack light fabrics, a hat, reef-safe sunscreen, and a swimsuit you actually like.
What's the group size and vibe like? This is one of our bigger retreats, with a loud, celebratory atmosphere. You will meet more people here than on our smaller trips, and the group still feels close by midweek.
Do I need a visa for Italy? Most North American and UK passport holders do not need a visa for a stay under 90 days here, under Schengen rules. Double-check your own country's requirements before you book, and look for the full details in your pre-trip documents.
What if I'm not a foodie or I don't drink? Not being a foodie or a drinker will not leave you short on this trip. Sicilian food is vegetable-forward and genuinely excellent, and drinking is never required. Plenty of guests stay sober through the week and have a great time regardless.
